Global Union of Scientists for Peace Presents Groundbreaking Solution for World Peace
A full-page open letter published in the Wall Street Journal on November 3, 2023, by the Global Union of Scientists for Peace, has ignited hope for a swift resolution of conflicts in the Middle East and Russia/Ukraine regions and a state of lasting world peace.
The open letter, addressed to President Joseph R. Biden and all world leaders, offers an evidence-based, innovative solution that promises to dissipate tensions, promote clarity of thinking and behaviour, and create a foundation for achieving the highest aspirations of all nations.Key Highlights of the Open Letter:
Advanced technologies of consciousness to be employed: The solution calls for 10,000 people practising the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programme permanently established in one place to create a field of coherence (orderliness) in world consciousness.
Evidence based, not just an idea: Over 350 peer reviewed studies published in independent scholarly journals confirm the benefits of the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programme.
​Not based on faith, prayer, or esoteric or supernatural support: This solution is based on the fundamental nature of reality as being consciousness, and the ability to enliven consciousness.
Costs are minimal: The proposed solution would cost only a tiny percentage of the Mr Biden’s proposed US$105 billion war budget for Ukraine and Israel.
Destroy enmity rather than enemies: 'Since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defences of peace must be constructed': (Constitution of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). By directly accessing and enlivening consciousness, feelings of enmity at all levels of society are dissipated.
Not just peace: Demonstrable outcomes of the proposal include not only resolution of conflict but future coexistence among nations with prosperity, security, and safeguarding of the environment.
Consciousness as a field:
Consciousness is the current “hot topic” in neuroscience as well as in psychology and philosophy. Since consciousness is an abstract quality there is no reason to believe that ends at our skin. It is more in keeping with observed data to see it as a field that underlies and connects us all.
Transcendental Meditation and group practice of the more advanced TM-Sidhi programme have demonstrated their effectiveness in producing coherence in consciousness thereby improving health and reducing crime, social stress, and international conflict in over 350 peer-reviewed published studies.
By addressing the root causes of global conflicts, the authors envision a future where nations coexist in peace, security, and prosperity. This visionary proposal has the potential to reshape the international landscape, emphasizing the unity of humanity over divisions.
